EcoKaari Wins Recognition at the Swachhata Start-Up Conclave – Catalysing Start-Ups for Garbage-Free Cities

EcoKaari is proud to share yet another milestone in our journey towards sustainability and social impact. We were recently honoured at the Swachhata Start-Up Conclave – Catalysing Start-Ups for Garbage-Free Cities, organised under Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), in collaboration with the Ambassade de France en Inde (French Embassy in India) and Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in 2022. 

This recognition is a powerful validation of our work in upcycling waste plastic into handcrafted, functional products, while creating livelihoods for women and youth from underprivileged communities. At EcoKaari, we have always believed that waste is not waste until wasted, and this award strengthens our mission of transforming discarded plastic into eco-friendly lifestyle accessories and corporate gifting solutions.

The event brought together innovative start-ups, policymakers, and global development partners to showcase scalable solutions for waste management and circular economy models. For EcoKaari, being part of this platform reaffirmed that grassroots social enterprises can play a crucial role in building garbage-free cities.

What makes this award special is the recognition of our dual impact:
🌍 Environmental sustainability – reducing plastic waste that clogs our cities and pollutes ecosystems.
👩👩👧 Social empowerment – generating sustainable livelihoods for women artisans through traditional Charkha and Handloom weaving.
